2007ஆம்
ஆண்டு ஆங்கிலம் மற்றும் பிரெஞ்சில் பட்டம் பெற்ற ரூபன் ரோமிலுள்ள ஊடக நிறுவனங்களில்
பணிபுரியத் தொடங்கினார். 2011 முதல் தனக்கு மிகுந்த ஈடுபாடுடைய ஆவணப்படமெடுக்கும் முயற்சியில்
தொடர்ந்து இயங்கி வருகிறார். பெரும்பாலும் கள ஆய்வின் அடிப்படையில் அமைகிற ரூபன் லகட்டொல்லாவின்
படங்களில் வடக்கத்தி நாடுகளுக்கும் கிழக்கத்தி நாடுகளுக்கும் இடையேயான ஒப்பீடு முதன்மையான
அங்கமாகும். ரூபன் லகட்டொல்லாவின் இலக்கியம் மற்றும் மொழியியல் பயிற்சியின் பயனாக தனது
களப்பணிகளில் கிரகித்த அனைத்தையும் உகந்த முறையில் புரிந்துகொள்ளவும் அவற்றை எளிமையான
கதையைப்போலப் படமாக்கவும் முடிகிறது.
ஐரோப்பா,
பல்கன்ஸ். இஸ்ரேல், பாலஸ்தீனம், சிரியா, ஈராக் உள்ளிட்ட பல நாடுகளுக்கு பயணம் மேற்கொண்டு
படமெடுத்துவருகிறார் ரூபன்.
'நான்
யார் என்பதை முடிவுசெய்ய எனக்கு சற்று அவகாசம் தேவைப்பட்டது. புகைப்படம், சினிமா, எழுத்து
எனத் தேடிய பிறகு.... நான் ஒரு கதைசொல்லி என்பதை அறிந்துகொண்டேன். புகைப்படங்களின்
வழியாகவும் திரைப்படங்களின் வழியாகவும் கதைசொல்லும் கதைசொல்லி நான்' என்று கூறியுள்ளார்
ரூபன் லகட்டொல்லா.
இந்த
இனிய தருணத்தில் ரூபன் லகட்டொல்லா அவர்களின் வருகைக்காக பெருமிதம் அடைகிறது 11வது கரிசல்
திரை விழா.

Ruben Lagattolla is a Documentary
Film Maker cum Photographer, Producer, Cameraman and Editor. He produce
documentaries particularly about geopolitics, anthropology and linguistics.
In 2007 Ruben finished his
Bachelor degree in English and French National and Post-Colonial Literatures
and Languages. Then, he started working in 2007 in the news environment among
national broadcasters such as SKY and RAI in Rome. Then with the experience, he
moved to documentary films production, which have always been his passion.
Many of his approaches are of personal research. His focus on human condition
is usually on comparison between western and eastern lifestyles. His formation
in literature and linguistics strongly characterized his explorations
empowering his storytelling as well as his understanding of inner and outer
human condition.
He makes more journey around the
world to produce films. Europe, Balkans, Israel, Palestine, Syria, Iraq,
Lebanon, Jordan. USA, Canada, Bahamas and Togo are the few among them. He
declares himself as a story teller. I his own words, 'It took a while to
understand what I do…photography, filming, writing. But what I conclude at the
end of my day is that I tell stories. The stories of the people. Stories
through photographs and films.
